VICTORIAN Member of Parliament Bernie Finn will speak at this year’s Rally for Life in Brisbane’s CBD on the impact of his state’s liberal laws which allow abortion up until the day of birth.

He will also tell those gathered in Queen’s Park on the afternoon of Saturday, February 21, how Victoria’s laws force doctors and nurses to participate in abortions.

One of the rally organisers Cherish Life Queensland president Teresa Martin said it was important for concerned Queenslanders to turn out in force to ensure such laws were not introduced in their state.

“Gathering in the heart of Brisbane for this rally is an important means of public witness,” she said.

“It tells the wider community there are people who do care about children’s right to life.”

Two other speakers will also address pro-life topics.

As the mother of a baby with Down Syndrome, Brisbane woman Kat Abianac will give an insight into the pressure she faced to abort her son Parker.

Brisbane’s Priceless Life Centre director Cath Toomey’s talk will include a discussion on the use of multi-media to spread a pro-life message.

Her organisation is committed to ensuring women and men have access to accurate information and the support required to make informed choices during a pregnancy.
