BR Herman Wagira made his final profession to the Christian Brothers during a conference held in Brisbane from January 3-10 that was attended by more that 350 brothers from around the world.

Br Wagira, from Papua New Guinea, made his vows before the worldwide leader of the Christian Brothers, Br Philip Pinto.

Good Samaritan Sister Jill McCorquodale and Christian Brothers Pan-African province leader Br Richard Walsh facilitated the conference titled, “A New Heart for a New Land – Yumi Wantaim”.

Chairman of the Oceania Shaping Our Future committee, Br Kevin Ryan, said visitors, including Brisbane Auxiliary Bishops Joseph Oudeman and Brian Finnigan, remarked on the high energy and enthusiasm of the brothers as they reflected on the importance of brotherhood needed for today’s world.
