Family seeks a miracle for Mum

SUSAN Gunderson’s family and friends are hoping a banner sent to Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz of Krakow in Poland might lead to a miracle cure for the Brisbane mother of two.

The group is pleading with Cardinal Dziwisz, who was Pope John Paul II’s private secretary for almost 40 years, to implore the late pope through prayer to cure Mrs Gunderson.

Family friend Jenny Davies said it was more than 10 years since Mrs Gunderson, a wife and mother of two young children, suffered an aneurism that rendered her a quadriplegic.

She said as a result of Cardinal Dziwisz’s prayers, coupled with the love and care of Susan’s family, and in particular her husband Steven, there have been minor miracles in Mrs Gunderson’s life.

Ms Davies said the banner sent to Cardinal Dziwisz depicted Pope John Paul II placing his prayer in the Wailing Wall at Jerusalem, asking forgiveness for sins committed by Christians against Jews over the past 2000 years.
