Visiting wonders: Maryborough pilgrims Sue Flavel, Kay Robertson, John Musa, Frank Burkett and Pat Burkett met with pilgrimage guide Fr Paul Kelly at St Mary’s Catholic church this week to discuss the wonders of Italy.

MARYBOROUGH’S parish priest will lead a pilgrimage to Italy to visit the beauty and wonders of Venice, Turin, Florence, Assisi, Rome, and Pompeii.

Two years ago Fr Paul Kelly led a visit to the Holy Land for an experience that fellow pilgrims later described as the “most spiritual and informative of their lives”.

The spiritual fruit of the trip has inspired Fr Kelly to lead a second pilgrimage, this time to Italy.

Fr Kelly previously spent three months in Rome on sabbatical.

He said he wanted to show others “the most wonderful sights in the world”.

Specific to his upcoming pilgrimage, set for September, are visits to the four marvels from the ancient world, namely the Shroud of Turin, the Sistine Chapel, the Rialto Bridge in Venice, and the ruins of Pompeii.

Fr Paul invites like-minded Catholics to join him on the 18-day pilgrimage departing Australia on September 22.

Anyone interested in joining the tour should contact Fr Kelly on 0417 786 456.
