THE first day of school at Our Lady of the Rosary (OLR), Kenmore, was exciting for the 2009 Prep classes who welcomed one set of triplets and two sets of twins.
The four boys and three girls join the schools existing Year 1 and Year 7 twins.
Assistant principal for administration Paul Mitchell said the twins and triplets were spread among four Prep classes with a total of 101 students.
“While this may make remembering names a little easier it will also provide an opportunity for the children to develop their own unique personalities,” he said.
Mr Mitchell, previously of St Mark’s, Inala, along with principal Andrew Oberthur, formerly of St Sebastian’s, Yeronga, are among this year’s new faces.
Mr Oberthur said he was “delighted with the smiling, confident and energetic Prep students”.
Mr Mitchell said all Prep students spent their first day getting to know their classmates and teachers.
“The teachers spent the day making sure all the students thoroughly enjoyed their first day of school life with games and activities to help them settle into their new environment,” he said.
“Prep classes at OLR are founded on a play-based curriculum that develops children’s knowledge and understanding through engaging and interactive activities that are guided by student’s interests and needs.”
