EIGHTEEN of Brisbane’s Stuart-holme School’s music students have scored spots in every ensemble at the Queensland Conservatorium State Honours Ensemble Program.
The students and more than 800 other participants from 170 schools from Queensland have been under the tutelage of a team of 11 eminent international and national conductors.
Head of music Andrew Mear said the students were involved in bands, string orchestras, Celtic strings and choirs ensembles in SHEP which ran from October 3 to 6.
“Stuartholme has been involved in SHEP since 2005,” he said. “We generally have a large number of students involved in theprogram.
“With the recent addition of choirs and Celtic strings into the course, many of our students now have an opportunity to share in a wide range of music styles with world class music educators.”
SHEP finished on a high note with a gala concert in the Griffith University Conservatorium Theatre on Sunday, October 6.
