STUDENTS from St Anne’s Catholic Primary School, Sarina, showed they could achieve on the academic playing field recently when they competed in various curriculum-based competitions.
Principal John Ballinger-Oches said the school was “extremely proud” of the Years 3 to 7 students who entered the 2008 round of competitions.
“The standard across all year levels was amazing,” he said.
“In most cases our class averages were the same if not better than the state averages.” Competitions ranged from writing on demand, science, maths and English.
Distinctions were awarded to Brock Schmidtke (maths), Ethan Price (maths, science), Logan Bella (English), Philippa Vella (English) and Logan Ahern (English, science).
Credits were awarded to Lauren Bella (writing), Logan Bella (writing, maths, science), Chiquita Fickling (writing), Carlie Christopher (writing, English), Jesse Farrell (writing), Daniel Vassallo (writing, English), Philippa Vella (writing, maths, science), Logan Ahern (maths), Riley Forde (maths), Jordan Nixon (maths), Nikki Wise (maths) and Brodie Madden (English).
