SETON College certainly knows how to raise money for a good cause.
The Mount Gravatt college community raised around $15,000 in the MS Brissie to the Bay Bikeathon held on July 27.
Over the past nine years Seton College families have raised the amazing sum of $90,000 for multiple sclerosis research in the bike ride.
About 270 riders including Seton present and past students, their families and friends rode in the event.
The youngest rider was Eve Devlin, just 13 months old, daughter of a Seton teacher.
Riders included a four year old who rode in the 10km division and a six year old who completed 25km.
Many of the schools Year Eight students rode the 50km to the bay and back.
This is the ninth successive year that Seton College has fielded the largest team and the eighth successive year that Seton has been the highest fundraising team.
This year 450 t-shirts bearing the logos of generous sponsors were worn by riders and volunteers.
Seton College has a proud tradition of supporting those whose lives are challenged by illness, poverty and natural disaster and always embark upon these ventures with generous enthusiasm and a true Christian spirit of selflessness.
The school’s next project is to donate funds to a remote and desperately needy orphanage in East Timor, which is surviving only on the generosity of individuals who send limited money for food and clothing.
