THE Queensland Catholic Schools and Colleges Music Festival once again brought the magic of music to life as Villanova College, Coorparoo, played host to this year’s event from August 15-18.
The festival gathered more than 14,400 student performances from 109 schools and colleges across Queensland, in a celebration of unity through music.
Villanova College music director and QCMF artistic director Michael Jones shared his gratitude to those who contributed to the success of this year’s festival.
“This event would not be possible without the incredible support of our volunteers and staff,” he said.
“Their commitment is what makes QCMF not just an event, but a community experience where music brings us all together.”
QCMF is a cornerstone of the Queensland Catholic Education annual music calendar.
Brisbane Archbishop Mark Coleridge joined Brisbane Catholic Education representatives and principals in supporting the festival.
With 615 ensembles, this festival showcases the best in music education, presenting a rich tapestry of styles and genres.
The festival welcomed more than 20,000 visitors during its four-day run, underscoring a massive logistical effort required to make such a large-scale event a success.
Behind the 90 hours of live music played, there was a team of more than 400 volunteers making it happen.
