THE Queensland Catholic Schools and Colleges Music Festival is making a highly anticipated comeback to Villanova College in Coorparoo from this weekend.
More than 9,000 music students hailing from more than 100 schools and colleges across Queensland, QCMF is set to create a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere at Villanova College.
Villanova College music director Michael Jones thanked the community for making this event possible.
“I would like to recognise the large team of volunteers and staff that works behind the scenes to make QCMF returns with gusto – without your work, this would not be possible,” he said.
“We are looking forward to the return of QCMF in 2023, where we will be bringing back all sections to the festival.
“It will be a wonderful celebration of music education and we cannot wait to welcome everyone back to Villanova College.”
The festival will bring together 597 ensembles, each dedicated to sharing their talents and passion for music.
With close to 15,000 student performances, QCMF will showcase the remarkable achievements and musical diversity present within Catholic schools.
The festival serves as a testament to the commitment of Catholic educators in nurturing musical talent and fostering a love for music.
From classical compositions to contemporary tunes, students will present an array of musical styles and genres, captivating audiences with their creativity and skill.
The QCMF stage will be transformed into a melting pot of musical excellence.
Organising an event of this scale requires an extraordinary level of coordination and dedication. Over the four days of QCMF, more than 20,000 visitors are expected to attend, immersing themselves in the infectious energy and enthusiasm emanating from the performances. Behind the scenes, a large team of volunteers and staff work tirelessly to ensure the seamless execution of the festival.
