BRISBANE Catholic Education schools went out of their way to ensure mums and dads received special attention when farewelling their Year 1 children for the first time.
Many schools held “tears and tissues” or “tissues and Tim Tams” mornings for parents who wanted to have a chat on what can be an emotional day for both parents and students.
There were plenty of red eyes at schools around the archdiocese but principals and teachers were on hand to offer a friendly word and offer reassurance about the many wonderful schooling years ahead.
