MOVEMBER ambassador and Powderfinger drummer Jon Coghill had his work cut out picking the best looking moustache at St Andrew’s School, Ferny Grove.
Sporting his own hairy upper lip, Jon had to choose from 21 male staff and fathers who decided to “grow a mo” during November to raise money and awareness for men’s health issues.
Support from within the school and the wider community was outstanding and the moustache growers raised about $2300, which will be donated to beyondblue, a national initiative tackling depression, and The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
As students and families watched on, Jon described each type of moustache as he went down the line-up of moustaches of all different shapes and sizes, to the delight of the audience.
Physical education teacher Gary King came up trumps with his bushy handlebar moustache.
Jon also spoke at assembly about the goals of the annual Movember fundraiser in raising awareness of male health issues.
Many laughs were shared and Jon signed a few hundred autographs.
