STUDENTS from St Augustine’s College, Springfield brought a little ray of sunshine to older people at two separate functions during Seniors Week from August 20-28.
Year 1 and 2 students sang and danced at a morning tea for seniors at Langley Hall, Camira on August 22.
Later in the week, Year 8 and 9 students joined students from St James College, Brisbane to serve and talk with elderly residents from Canossa Nursing Home, Oxley, during a Seniors Week lunch on August 24.
The Canossa residents had a ‘Deep South’ themed lunch with Cajun cooking and a performance from the Yellow Cabs brass band which played many old favourites for the residents.
Every Thursday, Year 8-10 students from St Augustine’s visit residents at Canossa as part of the college’s commitment to community service.
