DISNEY and Pixar may have found their match in Australia’s Missionaries of God’s Love priest and brothers, who have released their own online animated video series.
The newly recognised religious institute has produced four animated videos, each lasting less than five minutes, in their first Discernment for Dummies series.
MGL Brother Lawrence Yuen created all four videos, which features MGL priest Fr Callaghan’s animated avatar as the discernment guide.
Fr Callaghan, who co-ordinates the order’s multimedia apostolate, said the new series was “for young people who are seeking to know where to begin in the process of discerning their vocation”.
“Many young people experience great frustration because they have a strong desire to seek the will of God, but don’t know where to start,” Fr Callaghan said.
“Often the greatest problem is that our agenda in this process is very different to God’s agenda.
“This animated series seeks to explain what discernment is not, and then give the three most important steps if you want to hear the call of God in your life.”
The video series was released on November 30, the beginning of the Year of Consecrated Life.
World Day of Consecrated Life ends on February 2, 2016. Discernment for Dummies is available at mglpriestsandbrothers.org/animated-spirituality.
