THE Archdiocese of Brisbane will showcase its many career options at The National Careers and Employment Expo at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 20-22.
The archdiocese’s vocations promotions officer, Mark Lysaght, said nearly 10,000 people are employed by the Brisbane Church.
He said a key purpose of the Church’s presence at the expo was to put this diversity on show, and expand the display following last year’s success.
“Brisbane Catholic Education and the health care services – Mater Hospital, St Vincent’s and Holy Spirit Health – will be represented this year,” he said.
“The Vocations Office and Centacare are back again this year.
“There will also be a presence from other services such as the Archdiocesan Development Fund and Faith and Life.”
Mr Lysaght said the expanded presence followed the high levels of interest last year when the Vocations Office and Centacare Employment first appeared at the expo.
“The feedback we got last year also gave us some very good marketing analysis data,” he said.
Mr Lysaght said the display would also help highlight the difference this work made in people’s lives on a daily basis.
