EDMUND Ignatius Rice, founder of the Christian Brothers, got an unusual present on his feast day this year – a new website.

Christian Brothers Oceania Province director of mission Dr Bill Sultmann said the website had been launched on May 5, the founder’s feast day, “as a way of telling and re-telling the order’s story both in its breadth and depth”.

“As the key lines of the website reveal; this entails Our Story, Our Call, Our Response, Our People,” he said.

“There appeared no better opportunity than on the founder’s feast day to launch formally the new website, edmundrice.org.

“The day was an occasion to remember, celebrate tradition and give expression to our hope and confidence in advancing the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice into the future.”

Province leader Br Peter Clinch launched the revamped website.

Dr Sultmann, as working party chair, praised the efforts of Webmaster Br Bob Chambers.

“Bob has laboured continuously and meticulously with all aspects of website design, development and adjustment,” he said.
