CALCUTTA (CNS): The postulator of Mother Teresa’s canonisation cause said much work still needs to be done as the nun’s case for sainthood moves to the Vatican.
Fr Brian Kolodiejchuk, who is a member of the Missionaries of Charity founded by Mother Teresa, recently completed an inquiry into her life.
Archbishop Henry D’Souza of Calcutta closed the diocesan inquiry into Mother Teresa’s life during an August 15 ceremony in Calcutta.
He then commissioned Fr Kolodiejchuk to deliver the 35,000 pages of documents to the Congregation for Sainthood Causes at the Vatican.
The priest said although the inquiry was an “important step”, there was “much to be done on the way before” Mother Teresa was beatified and canonised.
