BLESSED Mary MacKillop’s intercessory powers have had a dramatic affect on a young Brisbane dancing student’s life.
Amy Green, a student in her early 20s from the Australian Dance Institute, believes the soon-to-be canonised co-foundress of the Josephite order helped her overcome epilepsy to follow her dream to become a dancer.
She now has a dream to open a dance studio for children with special needs.
Amy received the news of Blessed Mary’s impending canonisation with great excitement.
She said things had started to change for her when Josephite Sister Genevieve Ryder spoke with her mother. “I was a student at St Flannan’s, Zillmere, at that time,” she said.
“Life didn’t look very promising as I was having frequent epileptic seizures.
“Sr Ryder promised my mother she would get the sisters to pray for me.
“She also gave me a picture of Mary MacKillop which I’ve carried with me ever since.”
Amy said Mary MacKillop had been an inspiration in her life.
