A CATHOLIC city councillor is planning a protest against the TV reality show Big Brother outside the Dreamworld theme park on the Gold Coast.
The protest is being organised by Logan City Councillor Aidan McLindon on September 24 from 10am-noon.
Mr McLindon said the protest is part of a growing voice against the show, which ended its 2005 season recently.
He said it was time Dreamworld, which hosts Big Brother each year, was aware that families were united in their opposition to the program.
Mr McLindon, 25, will face Southport Magistrate’s Court on September 23 after rushing on stage during the final episode of Big Brother in a protest against the show.
Meanwhile, Brisbane Christian radio station, Family Radio 96.5 FM, has instigated its own protest against Big Brother, cancelling an annual youth event at Dreamworld.
The community radio station’s general manager Jason Berry said the station had decided not to proceed with Mega Rush, their end of year youth event, because of Dreamworld’s association with Big Brother.
