Decades old: The first edition of The Catholic Leader was published on December 5, 1929. The publication is 92 years old.

THE Catholic Leader Facebook page has had its posts blocked and its news made unavailable to view, engage with or share under recent changes by the social media giant in response to proposed legislation by the Federal Government.

Facebook has blocked Australians from viewing both domestic and international news organisations, including The Catholic Leader.

The changes were sparked by legislation, currently in the Senate, that would force Facebook to pay news media corporations for having their news in the Facebook newsfeed.

For now, The Catholic Leader recommends online readers to continue to access the website directly and consider subscribing to a digital or print subscription here.
