HAIL Marys will be offered from Perth to Brisbane for the second nationwide rosary from 2pm to 4pm this Saturday.
Organisers have called on parishes across Australia to take part in the rosary event, which prays for peace and love in the world.
Geebung parishioner and Legion of Mary member Yvette Kaminski said she hoped the rosary event would be a “unifying event for Christians”.
“Unifying in God’s love and unifying in a peaceful way… we want to be able to retain our identity as Christians and still have that unifying voice.
“As Australians we also want to pray for the rest of the world and we want to pray for those people who are experiencing atrocities of life, natural disasters, homelessness, poverty and abuse.
“I think Australians do that really well, we’ve always been unselfish and looked after others as well.”
Organisers were encouraging people to say the rosary in their parishes and ministry groups.
If people were unable to attend their church, they could also pray in their home.
The prayer pack calls on the intercession of Our Lady Help of Christians, which is her Marian title as the patroness of Australia.
