HOW many times have you met the Pope and what do you do in your spare time were some of the questions Gold Coast students put to Brisbane Archbishop John Bathersby when he visited their school.
The archbishop found himself back in the classroom during a visit to St Brigid’s Primary School, Nerang on November 9.
It was his first classroom visit to the school since it was opened in 1994. He spent time
talking to children and fielding questions in several classes.
Principal Greg Benfield said that for many of the students it was the first time they had seen an archbishop and they were naturally curious.
‘They wanted to know all sorts of things, from ‘did he want to be pope’ to ‘what does he do in his spare time’ and he seemed quite happy to answer them all.
