BRISBANE Archbishop John Bathersby lamented the large number of people who lived without God at an Archdiocesan Adult Faith Gathering at the Marymac Community Centre, Annerley on September 29.
More than 70 people attended the event, which was intended to assist people involved in the ministry of adult faith formation in parishes and deaneries.
The day began with a keynote speech by Brisbane Archbishop John Bathersby, followed by small group discussions and an address on growing the adult faith vision from the grass root level.
“The greatest tragedy of our world today is the large number of people who live without God,” Archbishop Bathersby said.
Archbishop Bathersby asked those present for their assistance in trying to develop exercises based on faith and scripture that could be helpful for themselves and others.
He enjoyed the opportunity to discuss his faith with those working in ministry and said the key to everything was God and the awareness of God and the awareness of communion could not be separated.
The day concluded with the opportunity to network and an examination of some of the successes and learnings from baptismal projects piloted in the Burpengary and Capalaba parishes.
