MORE than 3000 people braved the rain to honour Christ in the Eucharist on Nudgee Junior College’s oval at Indooroopilly on June 2.
They took part with Archbishop John Bathersby in a procession and benediction for the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi).
Rain cut short part of the celebration.
The event is an initiative of the Apostles of Mary and this was the fifth year it has been held.
Apostles of Mary president Doug McClarty said the numbers attending had grown each year. Many groups attended in national costume.
This year, for the first time, youth came forward to the altar during benediction and pledged loyalty to the Church and reverence for the Mass and Eucharist.
Other youth involvement included liturgical dance by members of the Vietnamese Legion of Mary youth group.
