THE staff of the Australian Leisure and Hospitality Group (ALH) has raised $120,000 for the St Vincent de Paul Society in Queensland.

ALH operates 50 hotels and 94 stand-alone bottle shops in Queensland and the money was raised by its 3000 staff under ALH’s Helping Hands program.

Regional operations manager Peter Hogg handed a cheque for $120,000 to the society’s new state president Michael McKeown at ALH headquarters on July 24.

Mr Hogg also announced the renewal of ALH’s association with the society for another year.

‘ALH and its employees support a range of charities and sporting organisations,’ he said. ‘Yet we are very keen to develop one major alliance within our Helping Hands program.

Mr McKeown said the society was thrilled to have forged a valuable partnership with ALH, which would deliver major benefits to people in need.

ALH staff raised the money sausage sizzles, head shaves, cricket and golf days, pool and ten pin bowling competitions, trivia nights, car rallies and charity auctions.
