ONE of the great gifts of being human is that we can reflect on times and seasons, events and life’s choices.
To give up on the reflective aspect of life will mean that we miss out on the possibilities of growing and of discovering new prospects in the story of our lives.
The Christmas event each year affords us the perfect opportunity to reflect on all that is good, true and beautiful – to once again recall those things that give us purpose and enliven our very existence.
It is here in this reflection that we are to find so much more than a story of a baby in a manger.
Here, we walk into the story that has changed the world and our lives as well.
From the Christ who is God-with-us, we discover immense potential to see the world in which we live through the eyes of God and to realise that Christ freely gives us all we need through the promise of hope, joy, peace and love.
How a tiny child can do all of this is left to us to uncover, and reflect on all that God offers us each day in the year ahead.
Christmas calls us to contemplation and to see everything that God freely gives to all humanity, and the grace to know how this has really changed our world.
May your Christmas reflection bring you the serenity that you never walk alone when God walks the path with you and your loved ones.
Christmas Blessings.
