THE Church in Australia will be called to rise up at this year’s Ignite Conference being held in Brisbane and Sydney in September.
The Ignite Conference has been held annually since 2001, with up to 3000 youth, adults and children expected to attend this year across the two events.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Rise Up,” a powerful call to action for all participants. It is an invitation to rise from the ashes of past struggles and to live with renewed purpose and passion.
This theme draws inspiration from the phoenix, symbolizing rebirth and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit.
“Ignite Conference is an incredible way to kick-start a newfound relationship with Jesus, revive a faith that has grown stale and equip emerging parish leaders,” Ignite youth director Kym Keady said.
“So many leaders have seen that if they can ‘just get that person to Ignite’ – the journey to go deeper can begin.
“One of the best things about Ignite Conference is seeing all generations, gathered in faith as one Church.
“From young kids in the Ignite Kids stream, teenagers in the Ignite High stream, uni students and young adults in the YA stream, and adults, religious, parents and grandparents in the Ignite Central stream.”
Ignite Conference 2024 promises to be another enriching experience with a line-up of leading Catholic speakers who will share their wisdom and insights and across over 120 keynotes and workshops.
The conference will feature an array of activities designed to deepen faith and community, including amazing rallies, powerful preaching, and opportunities to meet Jesus through the Sacraments.
Worship will be led by Emmanuel Worship, whose inspiring music will elevate the hearts and spirits of all attendees.
The Ignite Conference is more than just an event; it is a movement aimed at revitalising the Church by empowering individuals to live out their faith boldly and passionately.
By bringing together young people and adults from across the nation, the conference seeks to create a dynamic and supportive community where faith can flourish.
It is an opportunity for attendees to experience a profound sense of belonging and to be inspired to make a positive impact in their communities.
The Ignite Conference will be held in Brisbane from September 19-22 at St Laurence’s College, and in Sydney from September 26-29 at the Broken Bay Cathedral Precinct, Waitara.
Delegates can attend individually or as part of a group with their faith community.
