About your role:
Working across our two sites in Townsville (Loreto Aged Care facility and Villa McAuley Retirement Village, you will provide Pastoral Care and support to our residents to meet their sacramental, spiritual, psychological & social care needs, you will:
- Liaise regularly with the General Manager Mission Integration for Pastoral Care supervision and relevant training.
- Liaise with the facility manager for general oversight of care minutes in relation to holistic care, for each resident.
- Liaise with volunteer team to ensure the needs of the resident’s are identified and suitable support responses are in place.
- Support new residents to the facility including providing a Pastoral Care Assessment, Plan and progress notes.
- Contribute to case notes, palliative & end of live care including support and guidance to residents and families.
- Collaborate with the pastoral Care team in preparation and facilitation of Memorial and Thanksgiving services.
- Maintain confidentiality & provide effective service that meets the needs of all residents from culturally linguistic and diverse backgrounds.
About you:
You’ll present with:
- Relevant qualifications in Pastoral Care such as Clinical Pastoral Education, Theology and/or Spirituality and/or Counselling or the willingness to gain.
- Knowledge & understanding of the principles of the Catholic teaching, tradition & ecumenism.
- Experience in providing pastoral care in a Catholic Health or Aged Care setting.
- Ideally be an accredited Eucharistic Minister in the Catholic tradition or be prepared to become one.
- Queensland Provisional Green or above drivers Licence
