Hours: 30 hours per week
Salary Range: $141,166 – $148,100 per annum FTE, commensurate with experience

About the Role
The Assistant Principal – Senior Secondary holds a vital role for our students in Years 10 to 12. In our holistic approach, the Assistant Principal – Senior Secondary is required to be attentive to the pastoral and academic needs of the senior years students and is required to link these needs and to monitor them closely to ensure all students successfully meet our graduate expectations.
The following six domains outline the role of the as it is envisaged in Catholic schools in the Diocese of Cairns. Following each domain is the Statement of Performance Competency followed by Performance Indicators.

- To support the Principal in the management of the school the Assistant Principal – Administration

- To engage and work with the community as the Assistant Principal – Administration

- To lead improvement, innovation and change as determined by the Principal the Assistant Principal – Administration
Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements
- Participation in and commitment to the sacramental life of the Church.
- Understanding and commitment to education in the Catholic tradition.
- Professional qualifications in Education (Bachelor of Education, Master of Education preferred) and Religion as per Queensland Catholic Education Commission Position Statement for Senior Leadership Positions in Catholic Schools in Queensland.
- Leadership experience:
- Demonstrated ability in religious and education leadership.
- Demonstrated administrative ability.
- Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships.
- Demonstrated ability in curriculum development including knowledge of contemporary educational issues at state and national levels with particular reference to Religious Education.
- Written and verbal communication skills of a high order.
- Demonstrated commitment to the Pastoral Care of members of the school community.
- Skills for building community including facilitation, delegation and consultation.
- Minimum of 5 years classroom experience.
- Involvement in professional associations.
- Capacity for leadership within a school.
- Registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers.
- Current drivers licence.
- A strong demonstrated commitment to the objectives, vision and ethos of Catholic Education.

Eligibility criteria
- Be a committed, practicing Catholic

- Hold or be eligible to hold, registration as a teacher in Queensland
