ASHLEIGH Turnbull is passionate about sport and exercise, so when it came to choosing where to study these two areas, the combination of an outstanding reputation for exercise science, small class sizes, and attentive lecturers contributed to her decision to enrol at Australian Catholic University.
ACU has some of the world’s leading exercise scientists undertaking cutting-edge research; yet, each individual campus offers that personalised experience the fourth-year student was looking for.
“I like that I feel supported at ACU by my lecturers and peers. The lecturers encourage you to do your best. They are always asking if you need help with anything – even the head of department asks. They put time and effort into your studies and they care about you as a person,” Ashleigh said.
“I would tell someone thinking about studying at ACU that it is an awesome uni. It is a communal environment and everyone is really encouraging.”
Anyone looking for a university experience like Ashleigh’s can visit Open Day at ACU’s Brisbane Campus in Banyo on Saturday, July 23.
Open Day gives prospective students, their family and friends the chance to find out all about life at ACU, and even how to win a trip to study at ACU’s centre in Rome.
On offer will be information about early entry, overseas study options, undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and alternative entry pathways, with ACU staff and students on hand to answer questions and conduct tours of the campus.
Open Day is also a chance to experience campus life and soak up the atmosphere. There will be live entertainment by NOVA 106.9, lots of prizes to give away, and great food.
ACU’s Brisbane Campus is one of the University’s seven campuses that also include Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Ballarat and Adelaide. Students can choose courses in education and arts, health sciences, business, and theology and philosophy. For more information about ACU’s Open Day, visit www.acu.edu.au/openday.
