Cherishing all stages of life

Cherishing all stages of life

By Teresa Martin

THE state elections held in Queensland recently have seen eight pro-abortion Emily’s List women elected to parliament.

This is a tragedy for Queensland and our precious pre-born babies.

Emily’s List is an exclusively female network within only the Labor Party whose sole role is to push for abortion laws that allow the killing of the unborn right up to the day of birth.

Horrifically shocking abortion laws were pushed through in Victoria in 2008 and in Tasmania in 2013 courtesy of the Emily’s List brigade.

These women will not stop until they have coast-to-coast abortion in Australia. And even that may not be enough to satisfy them.

In recent years, Peter Singer along with other “ethicists” have stated they have no problem with “after-birth abortion” up to the age of two years – in other words, killing a child already born.

So how do we fight this?

Firstly, we need to ensure that the general public are aware that there is a large number of people who will never be shut down, who will never be shouted down, who will never step down from the holy and right job of protecting the moral rights of already-conceived babies to be born.

Do this by bringing everyone you can to the Rally For Life being held on Saturday, February 21,  at Queens Park, corner Elizabeth and George Sts, Brisbane city at 2pm.

Secondly, we pray.

We are not fighting against “flesh and blood but against the principalities, against the powers, and against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians  6:12) and the womb truly is a heavenly place, or at least it should be for our precious pre-born babies.

Thirdly, we should try to never miss an opportunity to speak the truth in love about the pro-life issues to those around us who have either never thought about the abortion issue or who think it is okay in certain cases.

Fourthly, we should encourage those who may state that they think abortion is wrong but do nothing about it to get off the fence and start to act.

For those who are Catholic or Christian, it won’t hurt to remind them of the Bible verse from Revelations 3:16 “So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth”.

Lastly, we need to ensure we have regular contact with our elected representatives no matter what side of the pro-life issues they stand on.

They need to know that these issues are important to us and that we will not be silenced.

We also encourage you to invite them along to the Rally For Life – remember, “if you don’t ask, you don’t get” and personal invitation is often the best.

We look forward to seeing a huge crowd of you at the Rally For Life on Saturday, February 21 – each and every one of you are important and vital to the pro-life cause.
