St Mary’s Catholic Parish is situated in the northern rivers of NSW, and centred on the major township of Casino. As part of the Catholic Diocese of Lismore, the Parish also extends westward to incorporate the towns of Mallanganee, Tabulam, and Bonalbo. St Mary’s has strong and supportive Parish Pastoral and Finance Councils. It operates both Primary and Secondary Schools and in addition has a substantial commitment to independent living units for the aged and a rental properties portfolio.

With the impending retirement of the Parish Business Manager, the Parish Priest of St Mary’s, now invites applications for the of Parish Business Manager.

The Parish Business Manager assists the Parish Priest in the stewardship of all temporal activities of the Parish in its mission of pastoral outreach. The emphasis of the position is in the areas of finance, human resources, office management and other duties as required by and in support of the Parish Priest. The Parish Business Manager will fully support the mission, vision, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church.

Major Responsibilities: Reporting to the Parish Priest and working with the Parish Finance Council, the Parish Business Manager has the day-to-day responsibility for all aspects of the Parish, other than sacramental rites and other priestly duties. In particular, the Parish Business Manager will be responsible for:

• The effective working of the administrative and organisational aspects of the Parish, including the direction and supervision of those non-priestly responsibilities, the Parish Office, finances, building maintenance and staff.

• Effective collaboration with those who advise the Parish Priest, staff and parishioners, to ensure the smooth and professional operation of all non-pastoral Parish functions.

• Leading staff by example, including the organisation of the Parish Office, to maintain an efficient, harmonious and safe workplace.
