Archivist – Archdiocese of Brisbane

  • Following retirement of long-standing part-time Archivist, the position has been reviewed and upgraded to full-time.
  • Fantastic opportunity for suitably qualified Archivist to lead this small but essential office to new levels of service and support.

The Archivist will oversee the Archdiocese of Brisbane Archives for the purposes of collecting, accessing, preserving, conserving and restoring records of historical importance to the Archdiocese in accordance with canon law and best practice. The Archivist will also provide a range of services to the wider Church and general public who may demonstrate a particular interest in accessing information from the collection.

The successful candidate will be required to have qualifications in archives and records management and experience in archives best practice. Candidates will be required to work independently with limited supervision and oversee a small operation, including one support staff member and a limited budget.
