Teddy bears’ day out

IF you went down to the woods at Eatons Hill recently you would have been in for a surprise.

Members of the All Saints’ Parish Playgroup at Albany Creek were holding a teddy bears’ picnic.

The youngest members of the community took their teddies out for a morning in the park on June 20 at Bunya Environment Centre.

The All Saints’ Playgroup has about 16 members, each with one or two children ranging in age from infants to preschoolers, but mostly in the two to three year-old age bracket.

Members were formerly part of the parish’s Majellan group but that was split into two this year to form the playgroup.

Playgroup member Jill Morris said it met fortnightly.

‘It’s great ‘ everyone’s nice and friendly,’ she said.

‘Some people had been to other playgroups but they just liked the atmosphere here.’

With most members being from the parish, the playgroup has proved a good way of building community spirit.
