STUDENTS from St Edward’s School, Daisy Hill invited students from a nearby Islamic school to join them for a day of peace on October 12.
About 45 students from Years 4 and 5 at the Islamic School of Brisbane, Karawatha, spent the morning taking part in prayer and peace related activities.
St Edward’s assistant principal for religious education, Brendan Schostakowski, said the day was a great success.
‘We provided them with buddies from our Years 4, 5 and 6s and the first activity was to make hands out of cardboard and write messages of peace on them.’
He said these hands were later used in the liturgy and given to the Islamic children when they left.
