Mater Hospital Hit for Six

FAST bowler Michael Kasprowicz and fellow Queensland Bulls team mates brought smiles to the faces of young patients on January 16 when they delivered a $5000 cheque toward equipment for the new Mater Children’s Hospital at South Brisbane.

The cheque was on behalf of Queensland’s Own Sugar, which sponsors junior cricket coaching clinics.

Kasprowicz and other players met the children and signed autographs.

The $72 million Mater Children’s, Australia’s newest children’s hospital, will open formally in May. ‘It will change childhood memories of hospital forever,’ said acting executive director Fiona Brewin-Brown.
