SICK youngsters at the Mater Children’s Hospital, South Brisbane were “All Shook Up” on October 5 when “Elvis Presley” paid a visit.
Elvis tribute artist, Dean Vegas from Brisbane, performed a mini concert with a selection of The King’s smash hits, decked out in official Elvis attire.
The young patients were all smiles as he sang and gyrated his way through a medley of songs, shook hands and posed for photos.
Following his short concert, “Elvis” walked around the children’s wards singing snatches of his Elvis tunes for those confined to their hospital beds.
The visit was a lead up to an Elvis Tribute Show to be staged at the South Bank Piazza on November 4.
All proceeds from the show will go towards the new Mater Children’s Hospital and the Mater’s Star of Lights Christmas Appeal which will be launched on November 3 at the Kids’ Cracker Night at South Bank.
It is the second year the Mater has run the appeal and little stars will be on sale at selected outlets around Brisbane for $3 to raise money for the hospital.
Tickets for the Elvis Tribute Show are available from Ticketek on 13 19 31.
