Would you like to sell The Catholic Leader at your parish, health care facility, school, or ministry headquarters? Then why not consider becoming a vendor.

Vendors are an essential support service for The Catholic Leader, helping to distribute the print newspaper to Catholics in all walks of life.

Requirements of a vendor

  • You must be a Catholic parish, ministry or organisation to qualify as a vendor
  • You must sell The Catholic Leader print newspaper for the cover price of $4
  • You must use The Catholic Leader official promotional material to assist in newspaper sales, which will be supplied to you the week you receive your delivery

Vendor FAQs

How much do you charge vendors?

We charge our vendors $3.80 per newspaper (compared to cover price of $4) per month. This results in a 20c commission per paper sold.

How will our newspapers be delivered?

Vendors that are located within the Brisbane Metropolitan area will have their orders delivered personally by one of our experienced delivery drivers. All other orders, including interstate distribution, will be sent Express through Australia Post. These deliveries are tracked.

How often we will receive our newspapers?

We deliver The Catholic Leader newspapers once a month.

When will we receive our delivery?

Expected delivery timeframe is from the week of publication date, which is the first Sunday of every month, to the second Sunday. All deliveries are tracked using the Australia Post Express delivery service. Vendors located in remote or rural areas may experience delayed delivery times.

Are we able to claim for unsold papers?

We are unable to credit or offer returns for unsold papers.

How are we charged for the order?

We invoice all our vendors in the weeks following delivery.

What is the minimum order quantity per month?

We require vendors to order a minimum of fifteen (15) newspapers per month. If you cannot make the minimum order, please contact our team on (07) 3324 3555 to arrange a special order request.

How do we change the quantity of our order?

To amend the order quantity, including cancelling your order indefinitely, you must contact The Catholic Leader Accounts team on (07) 3324 3555 or email accounts@catholicleader.com.au before the print date. We would appreciate confirmation of orders or cancellation by the third Monday of every month.

What should we do with any unsold papers?

The Catholic Leader follows Pope Francis’ instructions to not be part of the throw-away culture. In this way, we encourage all sellers to think creatively and resourcefully about leftover, unsold papers. We have been encouraged by organisations and parishes that give away unsold papers to home-bound Catholics who cannot attend Mass, or as an evangelisation tool for members of the public.
