JOHN Herron was a Renaissance man – world-class surgeon, senator, philanthropist, Harley Davidson rider, rugby enthusiast, husband, father and committed Catholic. Schoolboys’ act of kindness for Townsville suburb met with hugs and high-fives from locals

ROLLING up their sleeves and braving the mud, 14 schoolboys from a rural Catholic school travelled to the flood-ravaged suburb of Idalia, Townsville, to help out their neighbours.
