A VICTORIAN youth co-ordinator has been chosen to accompany Cardinal Edward Clancy of Sydney on the Jubilee Year ecumenical Pilgrimage to the Heart in June.
Sandhurst diocesan youth co-ordinator Justin Rofe’s name was drawn on March 8 in Brisbane, from nominees submitted by dioceses around Australia.
The national leaders of the Christian Churches in Australia will each be accompanied by a young person from their tradition in a pilgrimage from Canberra to Uluru (Ayers Rock), leaving on June 4.
Justin will accompany Cardinal Clancy, who is president of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference.
The draw took place at Brisbane Archbishop John Bathersby’s residence on behalf of the Australian bishops’ Committee for Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations, which he chairs.
Archbishop Bathersby invited four Holy Spirit students, Alex De Sousa, Amalia Milovanovic, Karlie Finlay and Ben Wu (PICTURED), to be present for the ballot.
