THE face of the Catholic Church in Australia has changed significantly in the past few decades.
Whereas, in the past, many Catholics could point to an Irish heritage somewhere in their family tree, today’s Catholics have a much more globally diversified connection with their past.
This diversity is evident in the latest crop of seminarians at Holy Spirit Seminary in Brisbane.
Three of the five new students were born overseas.
Each of the five seminarians has something valuable to offer the Church in choosing to pursue studies for the priesthood.
The Australian Church is blessed to have this rich mosaic of cultural influences in its midst.
May the contribution of the multicultural Church continue to prosper and bear fruit.
