The Diocese is seeking an Executive Officer to work in partnership with the Social Justice Commission in implementing the key objectives of the Commission:
a) promoting a spirituality of justice
b) researching and analysing local issues of injustice
c) building links with those marginalised through injustice
d) providing leadership in action for justice
e) educating the faith community for action.
The Executive Officer needs to have experience and expertise in issues impacting on
a) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples;
b) Refugees, Migrants and Asylum seekers; and
c) the earth: our common home.
Experience and expertise in other social justice areas are welcome.
An understanding of Christian faith that does justice is essential.
The Executive Officer is accountable to the Bishop of Toowoomba.
This is a twelve-month full-time position with the option of renewal after review for an extended term.
