ACU staff say goodbye to campus

STAFF at Australian Catholic University’s McAuley Campus in Brisbane took part in a moving farewell liturgy for the Mitchelton site on November 6.

About 100 staff gathered in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd for the last liturgy before the campus moves to its new home on the former Banyo Seminary site.

The move will officially start on December 9.

The gathering was the last opportunity for all of the staff to get together while still on campus.

ACU chaplain Fr Morgan Batt presided at the liturgy which focused on building.

Earlier in the year staff signed bricks and these were used to form a bridge.

A candle was lit and this was used to lead staff across the bridge.

The celebration also included a video of past staff members.

The relocation is expected to be completed by January 13 with the new Banyo campus aiming to open in time for Orientation Week in early February.
